Raj Kumar
Co-FOUNDER/Project Manager
Raj Kumar (MSW) is an experienced health and development worker under LCH. He has been working in this area since 1992, and is well known and respected in the local community. Since 2011 he has been directing Samvedna disability program. He has taken Samvedna from a small program of only one staff, to a program that serves those with disability across the whole area. His leadership, reliability and affability, bring a joy to all at Samvedna!
Dr. Nathan
Co-FOUNDER
Professor Nathan’s involvement in global health spans 20 years. A Public Health Physician and NHMRC post doctoral fellow, Nathan’s research expertise is in the areas of non-communicable diseases, disability inclusion, community health evaluation/monitoring, primary health care systems and understanding faith-based development agencies and programs. He has worked as a Public Health Fellow (Dept. of Health), and with CDC & WHO, on HIV and civil society partnerships. He has established five health and development-focused NGOs, serving on the board of four health charities. He has international experience in Africa, Fiji, East Timor, PNG, Bangladesh and Nepal, and currently works largely in India.
Dr. George Clarence
Project Director
Dr George Clarence, is an experienced Orthopaedic Surgeon with experience in North America and south India. In 2013 Dr George Clarence and his family felt called to give up a high level career and return to India to serve at LCH. Dr George Clarence is now the hospital director and serves as the project director and senior administrative officer for Samvedna. He remains highly supportive and closely involved with Samvedna.
